Frequently Asked Questions

What is Train Like Legends?

Train Like Legends is an online strength and conditioning program. The programming is designed by Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach Alex Diggory, then tested and fine tuned by Heather Mitts. The athlete receives daily programs to follow, alongside a series of in-depth, multi-angle instructional videos to accompany each exercise.

Where Do I Train?

Our programming is most effective if athletes have access to proper equipment. If your local gym, high school, or even basement has the necessary equipment, and space it can be a great option. If you lack certain equipment we have designed substitutional exercises that only require bodyweight.

What if I Don't Have Access to Equipment?

For those without access to necessary equipment, we have programmed alternative options that rely on only body weight. The body weight program is a great option for beginners, and also allows you to take your workouts anywhere.

Is This Program Only for Female Soccer Players?

While this program was designed to inspire the underserved young female athlete, the program is extremely beneficial to all young field athletes looking to grow their fitness.  It can even be useful for active adults looking to stay in shape and prevent injury.

Do I get to train with Heather Mitts? What other access do I have to Heather?

At the Bronze level, athletes have access to all the instructional videos and programming created and approved by Heather. They will also have access to the in-app community where Heather will occasionally post and reply to comments.

As an athlete steps up to the Silver level, they gain access to a monthly live Zoom Q and A with Heather, as well as the opportunity to train with Heather live once a Quarter. This session can be in person near TLL headquarters (Newtown Square, PA) or virtually via zoom.

At the Gold level, athletes gain access to a private zoom with Heather once a year, where they discuss progress and skills acquisition, while creating unique goals together. The athlete’s program will then be custom tailored around the goals that she sets with Heather to create a truly individual, world-level training regimen.

What's the Difference between the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Levels?

At the Bronze level, athletes have access to all the instructional videos and approved programming. They will also have access to the in-app community group where Heather will occasionally post and reply to comments.

As an athlete steps up to the Silver level, they not only gain access to the programming and scommunity, but also daily feedback from a TLL strength and conditioning coach. In addition, this tier of membership provides monthly access to a live Zoom Q and A with Heather and the opportunity to train with Heather live once a quarter. This session can be in person near TLL headquarters (Newtown Square, PA) or virtually via zoom.

The Gold level is for the advanced athlete looking to take it to the next level. This tier will have a unique opportunity to privately zoom with Heather once a year and set custom goals together. Your program will then be custom tailored around those goals to create a truly individual training regimen.

Why is TLL Important to Soccer Players?

Our programs at Train Like Legends are designed to make the youth soccer player stronger, faster, and more mentally prepared. With that approach we implement a lot of basic movement patterns within our strength and speed sessions.

These strength sessions are programmed so that athletes can learn how to move properly, listen to their body, and better utilize skills on the field. The strength sessions are also designed with the movements of a soccer player in mind, from single leg movements to lateral movements. We also focus on movements that help strengthen the legs of the athletes to prevent soft tissue injuries such as ACL tears.

Our speed sessions are designed so that change of direction and speed are both addressed. Soccer has a lot of small quick movement followed by lengths of rest in between. Our speed and conditioning sessions are designed to mimic in game conditions.
